The local council wanted to create something durable out of trees that had to be cut down. As a result, the ‘Skulpturenweg’ (Sculpture Path) was opened in Leywald in 2005 with great ceremony. Today, you can marvel at more than 50 fairytale figures created by more than 20 artists. Some of the characters are well camouflaged, which makes the experience all the more exciting. As well as wizards, elves, dwarves and giant penguins, you’ll encounter Snow White, mermaids and much more in the forest. And there's even a wooden throne that you're allowed to sit on. You are actually allowed to touch the artworks on this trail.
